SERVICES

The services are provided on a drop-in basis from a number of locations. The organisation uses both the Stonehaven Community Education Centre and St James’ Church Hall and has an office base in Barclay Street.

A number of activities are regularly available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Pillar members have outings organised at the weekends, generally once a month.

Staff do not provide direct ‘care’ to members as such e.g. counselling, but can provide comprehensive advice and information on where and how to seek assistance, and offer support and advice during times of difficulty. The staff’s function is primarily to facilitate and encourage good social interaction, welcome and introduce new members and ensure the smooth running of each session. A referral system operates for new members to ensure that the service is targeted appropriately.

The members have indicated that they wish the services to remain on a small scale with the opportunity to move on to things outside Pillar Kincardine if appropriate.

The sessions provided over the past years are shown below.
