Leglislation Policies

As a caring and supportive employer, and as an open organisation accountable to our members and funders, we require clear, unambiguous and up-to-date organisational policies to underpin best practice in the field of

  • Employment
  • Health & Safety
  • Accounting Practice
  • Equality & Diversity
  • Protection of Vulnerable People
  • Privacy & Data Protection

We are also required under the terms of our Service Level Agreement with Aberdeenshire Council to comply with all relevant legislation, regulations, standards and codes of practice issued by "competent authority", eg Care Commission, Data Protection Registrar, Disclosure Scotland, Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator.

Commitment

Pillar Kincardine will adopt policies in all of the above fields consistent with the legislative and regulatory framework outlined in Schedule 1.  It will disseminate its policies both manually to staff, members and volunteers, and to the wider community through its Internet website.  It will review its policies at intervals of not more than three years in accordance with Schedule 2 and will monitor the application of its key policies (eg Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity) at least once a year.

Responsibilities

  • Review and adoption of policies : Board of Pillar Kincardine
  • Dissemination of policies : Pillar Kincardine Service Manager under the supervision of the Chairman of the Board
  • Implementation of policies : all Pillar Kincardine employees, members and volunteers
  • Monitoring of the practical application of policies : Pillar Kincardine Service Manager under the supervision of the Chairman of the Board

This statement of policy was adopted by the Board of Pillar Kincardine on 6 November 2007.  It was reviewed and re-adopted on 16 August 2011.
