Pillar Kincardine Policy - Equal Opportunities - Revised version adopted 14 April 2009
Equal Opportunities
Declaration of Intent
Pillar Kincardine recognises that Scotland is a multi-cultural society and that cultural diversity enriches our society. We believe that no person should suffer disadvantage by reason of race, colour, sex, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, marital status, age, sexual orientation, disability or responsibility for dependants.
We will seek to eliminate unfair discrimination, direct or indirect, in our decision-making, employment practices and provision of services, and will work with others actively to combat discrimination and promote equality.
Policy Statement
Pillar Kincardine will ensure that access to its services and decision-making processes is available to everyone on a fair and equal basis.
Both paid and unpaid workers will be given equal opportunity in all aspects of training or work, irrespective of sex, marital status, age, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, religion, sexual orientation, disability or health problem, provided such disability or health problem does not impede their capacity to do the job.
Part-time workers will not be discriminated against, and the same conditions of service will apply.
All employees will be made aware of the provisions of our equal opportunities policy and be asked to give their agreement to promote this policy in their work.
